We’re now almost to the end of February, so I want to talk to you about the upcoming spring market. This year, we’re headed into a seller’s market.

For buyers, this is a challenge because there’s not that much inventory to choose from. For sellers, there are a few things you should do to prepare:

1. Call me. I’ll walk through the property with you and give you advice about updates and repairs that you should make to maximize the value of your home. Then, we’ll establish a list price and get it on the market.

2. We highly recommend a home inspection. I’m standing in a home that sold for much less than what it was listed for after having been on the market for a long time. The reason for that was the fact that there were a number of issues that came up during the inspection. Once you’ve done an inspection, you’ll have a list of things to fix, replace, or upgrade so that you won’t have the trouble when the buyer comes to call.
